Alternate years, next offered in Spring 2013

In this course, students learn the concepts and application of strut and tie modeling and how it is used for the design of deep beams, for torsion resistance, beam-column joints, bridge and building components, and post-tensioned anchor zones. There is a group course project integrating computer simulation and physical experimentation (design, build and test) of a structural concrete component.
